Rinse and Reteach is built on a simple idea: teachers shouldn't have to rebuild from scratch every year. Start with a proven foundation, teach it, reflect, and refine.
This site was created by a high school Computer Science teacher, Patrice Myers, who wanted to share resources that actually worked in the classroom. This way other educators can spend less time creating and more time connecting with their students.
My Background
Patrice spent 12 years as a web developer and later an engineering manager at marketing agencies and software companies. After a sabbatical that involved teaching elementary school students, she decided it was time to come back to teaching!
She was in for a rude awakening when she came back to teaching in 2024. This time she was a computer science teacher and had no idea (unlike math education) that there would be limited to no resources for teaching introductory CS courses geared toward high school students. After scrounging around in the first few weeks of school for disparate assignments, she focused on creating what was needed to fill remaining gaps and keep her students on pace and engaged with the curriculum. Rinse and Reteach aims to share those learnings from those intense two years with other teachers so they can have a solid, practical foundation to build upon.
Education & Credentials
Patrice graduated with a B.S. in Mathematics Education from the University of Maryland and holds a Master's in Internet Technology from the University of Georgia. She holds endorsements in the state of Georgia for Gifted Education and English as a Second Language (ESL).
Teaching Experience
Her specific experience includes:
- 8 years as a High School Math Teacher with a focus on Algebra-based math through Calculus
- 2 years as a High School Computer Science Teacher of Intro to Software Technology and Computer Science Principles courses
